U10-U12 Academy

We believe there is a gap in youth soccer at the U10–U12 age groups. Too often, the focus is on teams, leagues, travel, and results rather than what matters most at this stage: individual development, technical ability, creativity, and decision-making. That's why we're launching the TST Academy in 2027.

The TST Academy is a free, selective development program designed for girls who demonstrate strong potential, a solid technical foundation, and a desire to learn, compete, and improve. Our goal is to create an environment where player development comes first, giving young players the foundation and freedom to reach their full potential.

Training & Development

The foundation of the TST Academy is training. Players entering the Academy are expected to have a strong technical base, but our focus is on continually developing and refining those abilities. Training is designed to maximize touches, repetitions, and opportunities to make decisions under pressure. Particular emphasis is placed on first touch, passing and receiving, dribbling, ball mastery, and 1v1 attacking and defending. Players are challenged to become more comfortable on the ball, execute technical skills at speed, use both feet, and solve problems independently in game situations.

As players progress, training increasingly incorporates movement off the ball, understanding space, and tactical decision-making. Throughout the process, individual technical development remains our priority, with the goal of developing confident, creative, and technically proficient players.

Game Days

Academy game days are designed around development rather than traditional league standings or results. Players compete primarily in small-sided, 4v4 games creating more opportunities to touch the ball, attack, defend, make decisions, and solve problems. Smaller games keep players constantly involved and place them in situations where they must take responsibility for what happens on the field.

The goal is simple: maximize meaningful actions for every player.

Additional Competition

The Academy will participate in select tournaments throughout the year. These events give players opportunities to test themselves against outside competition while keeping the primary focus of the program on training and development. Competition is used as another tool for development—not the definition of success.

Commitment to TST

The Academy is designed for players who want TST to be their primary soccer development environment. Academy players are expected to be committed to TST and may not play for another club while participating in the program. This allows coaches to create a consistent training environment, establish clear development expectations, and build a shared playing philosophy across the group.

A Pathway Forward

The Academy is the beginning of a longer development pathway at TST.  At the conclusion of the Academy years, players will have the opportunity to continue into the U13-U14 Select program, which prepares players for high school and beyond.
